Back to work (for a few more days)!

Image
Yay for another short work week! I hope that y’all had a good Christmas. I certainly did. So time to catch up with some shorts. I saw three movies over the holidays. Yogi Bear was alright even though it got nasty reviews. I didn’t like Little Fockers because those little Fockers are barely featured in the film. Tron: Legacy, was for me, way better than the first which I have yet to sit all the way through—still, it’s one of those movies that I could have waited until it was available to rent. I tagged along with my parents and sister and went up north to my uncle’s church for the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. My aunt and father didn’t like the service that much. I suspect that it was because the liturgy was a bit different. My sister and I were kept amused by other church members. I think we’re too snarky to go to church anymore. That and maybe a good dose of ADHD. After church, Dad directed us out the middle of nowhere to find this large display of Christmas lights and decoration

Where I Split Off

I'm watching the debate on the repeal of DADT and the passage of the DREAM act on C-SPAN. With my support for the Democrats on these issues, I wonder if I'm crossing over to the dark side! I think I will write more on this later.

Stamp Day

I woke up early to go to the post office today. Other than Saturday, 0800-0900 is the only time on the weekdays that I can get in there because of my work schedule. I had to purchase some international stamps for Christmas cards that I’m sending out. Would you believe that they didn ’t have any? It’s Christmas, their busiest time of the year and they don’t have them?! I messaged a tweet to one of the recipients who lives in Scotland. I asked him if he collected stamps because he’s getting a few domestic ones from me: Boy Scouts, military award, and some clock thing. Later in the day, it was slow so I asked a different department if they needed any help. Since it’s the end of the year, some documents needed to be destroyed. One of the box contained post cards. Now these are business reply cards and if they are mailed from within the US, no postage is needed on them. If they are mailed from outside, then they do. I was halfway through the pile when I noticed that a number of

When I don’t listen to the radio.

I wouldn’t say that I’m a Grinch but I do not listen to the radio when they start broadcasting Christmas music. Most of the Christmas music they play makes me cringe-they’re so horrible. Off the top of my head, I thought I would share with you some of my most hated of the bunch. Wham – Last Christmas Mostly I hate the synthesizer in this. I guess you can say that it’s not even really a Christmas song as the real focus is on that bitch of a girlfriend that George had. Oddly enough though, there was a cover done by Scala & Kolacny Brothers and loved it. It’s all about the packaging, I guess. John Lennon – Happy Xmas (War is Over) I don’t have anything against the song and its artistic value but if there is one song that I’m burnt out on—it’s this one. Turn on the radio and see how long you can go before hearing it and then hearing it again. Paul McCartney – Wonderful Christmastime Lennon could at least write a respectable song. Paul McCartney’s offering is total shit. Again

Boy Problems

Can someone explain to me why I have boy problems when I’m not even dating them? In short, I believe a guy has a serious crush on me. This guy is someone I knew from high school. We are acquainted with one another but we aren’t friends. I got a message from him the other night on facebook and we had a chat. He extended an invite to have dinner with him and his roommates some time in the future. Just to be sure, I wanted to be clear that this was just a friendly dinner and not a date and he kind of blew it off basically saying, “yes, of course.” Since then he has broken up with his boyfriend and last night I got these text messages from him: On my way home. I Have been thinking about u. I Want to cook u dinner. And its going to be soon baby. Then later around midnight he messages me: I wanted to say GOOD NIGHT sweetie. Seriously, I do not know how you can read that any other way. There have been other messages from him but let’s just get to the point: I have a boy problem. I thi
