On Ondoy

Tropical Storm Ondoy (Ketsana) has caused major flooding in Manila. It has been reported to be the worst in 40 years. Based on some of the facebook status updates on some of my friends there, I can believe it. The videos that have been coming out have been horrific such as the family surfing down a raging Pasig River on a heap of garbage that was probably their home. Who knows if they survived. My step-aunt who lives in Manila reports that her family is safe and accounted for. They've had to move all their belongings up to the second level of the house as the ground level has flooded.
