Cleeeaaannnn Again!

Last week our well dried up and the new one didn’t come online until yesterday. I think that my blogging may be correlated into how clean I am feeling. For most of the week our water came from a water buffalo but we didn’t want to waste it. So we got conservative with our usage.

“If it’s yellow let it mellow. If it’s brown flush it down.” Yeah… we had to enact that rule.

For the first half the week I was taking a bath using two buckets, a cup and wash cloth. (Thank goodness, all this happened now and not in the dead of winter.) It didn’t faze me. Been doing that for summers on the farm and in the Phils. Near the end of the week when we realized that we would have plenty of water left before the new well was done, we were able to graduate to Navy showers.

So we’re good now. I still think that we should get the water tested to see if it is safe to drink though. Seriously, if you city folk tasted our water you’d be worried too.

Where I grew up we had a deep spring well that always ran with fresh tasting water, then I moved to the city with foul smelly water. We never really think about water until we do not have access, then it hurts! At the bf's place his water is really foul smelling, he has to bring in water to drink and cook with.

We are all really glad that you can take a proper bath now David! ;P

Wow, they really tore up the yard hardcore. I really hope that I never have to experience that again. I'm rather spoiled with the availability of running water.
