I recall a method of stealing jeans from shops where you took (say) 3 pairs into the privacy booth to try them on...and came out with two rejected pairs on your arm and one hidden underneath your old jeans.
Not a technique for hot days.
But this was in the days before extra baggy jeans worn halfway down the leg were the fashion.
I work in an urban setting and saw this being done with 3 pairs of basketball gym shorts. Jokingly I told the kid that if his legs were cold I would be happy to try to find him a pair of pants. I don't think he got it but we all had a good laugh.
I don't even know where to begin...
