I want to be a Crackberry addict!

Oh why couldn’t I have waited six more months!
It’s weird but it’s actually due to the iPhone (or really the iPod) that has gotten me interested in smart phones. I’ve had my iPod Touch for over a year now and I love it. I love it so much that if AT&T had more bars in my area, I would have gotten the 3G when it was released.
Now I really want the new Blackberry Storm which, to me, is the iPhone killer. It will be available next month with Verizon. It’s already been released in the UK with Vodafone (which has a substantial ownership in Verizon) so that’s where I believe that this vid is coming from.
Earlier this summer, I bought the LG Glimmer. I am largely satisfied with it. It is just as good as my Motorola E815 which proceeded it. I did modify my plan and signed up for web access. It costs me an extra $5.99 per month. I was itching to have access to my email while I was at work (checking it during my breaks of course). I figured that I would hedge against Verizon’s access charge which is an extra $10. Since Verizon bought out my carrier (Alltel), I’m expecting them to allow me to keep my contract rates until the contract terminates in 2010.
Now, I want Verizon to speed up their plans and offer us Alltel customers the opportunity to get out of our contracts and get on theirs. I want the Storm that badly!
To make a switch, it would cost me over $500. I’d have to pay the $200 early termination fee with Alltel and an expected monthly charge which would be about $58. Then there’s the buying the Storm (which I suspect will cost $199) and then Verizon’s monthly charge which I would estimate at being $80.
Hopefully time will calm me down.
h/t to marketwire for posting this vid.

j/k.
Most of my friends are the same way. Of all the people that are in my phone book, only three of them are comfortable with txt. None do MMS.
Personally, I'm drawn to the ability to access information whenever and wherever I am (providing that I stay within the country). I want to do access more than the weather forecast or football scores.
