I think I've hit my limit for now.

When it comes to using new media to keep in touch with people, a lot of my friends are behind the times. We're talking about the late 90's where the techiest way to reach someone was through email or dialing up someone on the cell (because contact lists are to cumbersome). When I created this blog oh so many years ago (in internet years it's pretty frakin' old) I thought I was participating in something new and cutting edge. In reality, I was riding the backwave of the blog phenomena. Podcasting was the new big thing. Then there was the vlog. I've tried them both and it really wasn't for me.

Something new that has probably passed its hype peak is Twitter. It's a sort of microblog that you can update particularly from a mobile phone. Luke has one on his site and is a pretty good user of the service. Quite a number of my friends on Facebook use a similar service to post updates on what they are doing/feeling/whatever.

Over the weekend I came pretty close to signing up with twitter but in the end I decided not to do it. To be honest, I have very little interest in keeping people updated on my life hour by hour or even day by day. One, I'm pretty damn boring. Two, I may have messaging bundle, but I'm not using it to post messages no one is going to read.

So I think I might as well pull up a chair with this here blog. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. ...Unless someone invents a holosuite.

Going to sleep because I have to work tomorrow.

I thought Twitter was awesome. For five minutes. Don't sign up. It's just another thing that you have to maintain. And I think it's for people who are too lazy to maintain a blog, you know - thinking of a topic, writing about it, using a few sentences...

My exciting update! Going for a cookie, decided to take two, nah make that three, then get a glass of milk with that, drink from carton a little, then use a glass, sit down, read blogs, wonder how I get so much belly button lint from a T-shirt. Don't worry, I'll let you know if I get another cookie! See how my life is full of adventure!

@Bob: Don't worry. I've resisted.

@Stevent: You gotta keep it under 140 characters. :-P
