Another phone

A while ago, my faithful Tracfone cell began to die. I had a difficult time trying to get the unit to recharge. I’m guessing the connectors were bad. After getting sick of it I decided to get another phone . My faithful Tracfone was an old style phone and my service was contracted out to Alltel although my phone could jump from network to network. As I considered new phones with Tracfone, I found out that they didn’t do this anymore as the new coverage maps showed less coverage even though it was now a national service. (When I was with Tracfone/Alltel, I could only use it in the western half of Lower Michigan, any other place I was roaming.) So I decided to go with Virgin Mobile. Bad idea.

There are three places that I spend most of my time: My home (which had no bars, but service), my place of employment (which had a full set of bars until I got inside in which case I got service but no bars), and my internship site (which has no service at all.) I was finally fed up with it. So chalking it up to experience, I went looking for another phone. This time, I went running back for Alltel, which has started their own pre-paid service. They only offer two phones but at that point, I didn’t care. I just wanted a phone that could work.

So here are my two phones. My new Alltel phone is so ugly, I went to Mishawaka to see if I could buy a new face plate for it. I was about to purchase a metallic navy blue one when the vendor said that they cost $15. FIFTEEN DOLLARS! For a freaking piece of plastic that probably cost 20cents to produce. I probably could email my friends in the Philippines, have them buy me one over there, and then ship it to me for about eight bucks. Thanks, but I’ll just live with my ugly—but working—phone. Notice the bars!! If you want the new number, email me.
