Breaking out the Power Point

I'm a little nervous today. I'm going to be making a presentation in front of the CFO, Business Director, Development Director, Ops Manager, and a client administrator. We're going to start revamping one of the responsibilities that I have to make it less cumbersome. I'm glad about that part but before we can do that, they need to know about the awful mess that I deal with now. I'm not the best at explaining things but hopefully they will be distracted by my mad Power Point skills!

UPDATE 2200, 23 June 2009

The presentation went really well. Actually, it was oddly fun and pretty relaxed. I’ve never made a presentation in front of a group quite like that ever and I thought that I’d be a nervous wreck. To be honest, the thing that I was presenting on is something that I approach on a wing and a prayer. At the end of the month when I’m done with it, I make a silent thanks to God. It’s that bad. My biggest fear was that I was going to get trapped in dirty details that I barely have any knowledge on.

The whole point was to start getting the ball rolling on simplifying the some of the procedures that I go through. I really would like to tell you what it is but I’d rather they not find this blog. Okay, anyways, this project that I do for them has to be done every month and it takes me four days (and sometimes longer) to do it. That’s too much time and it cuts down on other productive things that I could be doing. Hopefully in the next few months I can start seeing changes but as complicated as it is now, I really don’t see a total transition to a new procedure occurring until fall at the earliest. Whenever it happens, I’ll be glad.
