After about a week in another part of the complex, I’ve been allowed to return “home.” The position that I had been covering has been farmed out to three other people. They aren’t happy about it and I don’t blame them. Everyone is being stretched as far as possible. Not everything is settled yet but I think that things will fall into place once they are pressed to get things done.
My desk virtually disappeared underneath piles and totes of paper while I was gone. I spent a good hour and a half trying to put it all in appropriate piles and figuring out which ones had priority. I’ve managed to at least clear off my desk top. I will take those small victories!
The best part of my day were people coming up to me and saying that it was good to have me back. Screw the modesty crap. I LOVED IT! It feels so damn good to have people actually miss me. For all the moaning I do about it, this really is the second best job that I have ever had and I do like it. Now if they only paid me more…

Isn't it great when people appreciate you for what you do? I will never forget the first time my boss actually gave me a thank you card for saving the companies rear legally. It just makes you want to go to work the next day!
