On this week’s update of Post Secret, I saw a secret that expressed something that has been going through my mind lately and whenever there is a family function. I hate that my family will talk amongst themselves wondering if there is anyone I’m dating. With the engagement of one of my cousins and my own sister’s relationship, questions about me are coming up. Quite frankly, I think that they already know if not suspect. I feel the probing of their questions and sometimes I just want to stop and say, “Why don’t you ask the question you really want to ask?”
I figure that if they can ask the question, then they are ready to hear the answer.

I still wouldn't know what to say...if it was a family member who asked.
Maybe they're waiting for you to be ready to tell them....
I wish my parents would ask, I am ready to say yes, and like you I feel if they ask then that would be a sign they are ready to hear the answer.
@John: Perhaps you'd be more calm and collected than you think.
@Kapitano: Considering the homophobia that comes from them, I tend to think that this is not the case.
@Steven: On the other hand, sometimes I think that my parents need to get a slap upside their heads and face reality.
When are you moving out? Seriously. How old will you have to be before you move out?
Anon, I'd like to move out tomorrow if I could but I have not been able to secure a job that would allow me to do so. The one that I have now barely allows me to keep my head above water. So let that be a warning to any student who is pursuing a lame degree like Political Science! Is it a mixture of cowardice that keeps me from going, yes, that's a fair observation. Hopefully it won't be before too long.
Life is too short. Move out. Live your life.
