Coffee? Tea? Mountain Dew?

It has been a number of years since I have had to get up so early on a regular basis. Not since having to report for PT (Physical Training) did I have to get up before the rising summer sun. A few days ago I bought some coffee to kick start the day. I wouldn’t say that I am a coffee person. I like the taste of it but I never really had the desire to make it. Now I am doing it solely because of caffeine.

I bought a bag of Beaner’s. I know, I know, I could have gone for the cheap stuff but this was an almost nostalgic purchase. Let me tell you a story. Back in university, before I had the ability to avoid 8 o’clocks, I used to have to sneak out mugs of coffee from the cafeteria. Technically, you weren’t supposed to remove anything from the cafe, but no one followed that rule. Miss. Fannie who was the ticket checker fully knew what I was doing and never cared. (One of the many reasons why she made my stay at MASP a pleasant one.) In later semesters when I started going to classes at 10 and 11, I dropped the coffee. I didn’t need it anymore. But as I started to get my ass into studying gear during my last two years, I picked it back up. One of the best places that I could study was Beaner’s. In fact, I dragged three class project meetings to that place. Beaner’s fan? You betcha. The bag that I bought came right from East Lansing.

At work, around ten or eleven, my productivity starts to go unless I have one of those energy drinks for break. That shit is expensive! I’ve got my eye on one those heavy duty thermoses. I could put some java in that and coast through the day.

I’m going to wind up an addict.
