Crumbs

My friend Erin just gave birth to a son named Noah. Well, I guess I won’t be visiting her for the next… eight years.

It’s a bit late commenting on this but oh well. MSU won against Louisville and are now in the Final Four. As ashamed as I am to admit this but I thought Louisville was going to have their way with us but the Spartans kept their pressure on and finally broke them in the second half. It was very satisfying. They are on to Detroit to play Connecticut.

How do you tell your boss that it can’t be done? I compile a report that is used for the company billing and it takes me about 4 days to do if I am allowed to concentrate on it. Boss 1 of 5 sent me a message asking if I can have it ready by Wednesday. I told her that Thursday was more realistic. So I’ve got to put on my miracle worker hat and find a way to speed up the process.

Snow? Again? Yuck.

I'm sure you can speed up the process. Just do without the luxury of sleep. :-)

Um, I take it you don't like babies?

@Stacey: Gifts? Were we supposed to send one?

I think that she notified people by text message.

@TardisGirl: It's not that I don't like babies. It's that I'm scared of them. Like if I touch one, the head will roll off or something.

i just sent a gift for the shower since i couldnt go, and she is really my first friend to have a baby- so i figured i should... hmmm, i wonder if she got it
i feel like i have lost another friend to motherhood... soon there will be no one else left and then i will have to go to the dark side

I know the feeling. In 3+ decades of life, I have never actually held a baby.

I've held plenty of babies. Some have even gone to sleep while I was doing it - though others started screaming at the tops of their voices.

The experience isn't so different from holding a cat or small dog. And as with them, it isn't something you want to do for more than ten minutes at a time.

I know what you mean about fear that the head'll roll off. I had that the first few times. Um...the fear, not the head rolling off.

Offer to be a babysitter. Your friends will get some of their lives back, you'll have access to someone else's fridge and DVD collection for a night, and the gratitude will be forthcoming.

You can stay with me over on this side. I'm not planning on having any kids and it would be one helluva accident if I ended up with one.

@TardisGirl:
Really? Never?

@Kapitano:
The way I found out that she was pregnant, she told me to brush up on my diaper changing skills (she assumed that I had some). So I guess I will be taking care of the little guy at some point. --- Wait. No. No I won't!
